A Word About the Coral
TIA Midnight Acropora closely reminds me of the classic Solomon Islands Purple Monster, with the same smooth branch structure and deep purple-blue coloration.
Does anyone else love those unusual smooth skins like me?After more than two years of growing it out, Midnight has become intensely purple and developed so many extra colors—yellow-green corallites, pink to magenta growth tips, and subtle turquoise highlights across the branches.
Care Requirements
Lighting
Moderate to High PAR (250–400). Strong blue-spectrum reef lighting helps enhance the purple-blue body, yellow-green corallites, and pink growth tips.
Water Flow
Moderate to Strong, turbulent flow. Randomized circulation supports healthy tissue growth, prevents debris buildup, and encourages natural polyp extension.
Placement
Best placed in the upper half of a mature reef aquarium where stable water parameters, strong lighting, and consistent flow support SPS coral growth.
