A Word About the Coral
TIA Shock Wave Acropora is a distinctive Acropora with a
rich pink to red base, icy blue growth tips, and bright neon-green
corallites.
The most recognizable feature of this coral is its unique polyp structure.
The fine ring-like polyps spread outward around each corallite and create a
visual effect that looks like tiny shock waves radiating across the
branches.
This unusual “shock wave” appearance gives the colony strong texture and
movement, making it stand out even in a packed SPS collection. For
collectors who enjoy corals with highly visible polyp detail and a more
dynamic look, TIA Shock Wave Acropora is an especially memorable piece.
Care Requirements
Lighting
Moderate to High PAR (250–400). Strong blue-spectrum reef lighting helps
enhance the pink-red body, icy blue tips, and neon-green corallites.
Water Flow
Moderate to Strong, turbulent flow. Randomized circulation supports healthy
tissue growth, keeps the coral clean, and encourages strong polyp
extension.
Placement
Best placed in the upper half of a mature reef aquarium where stable water
parameters, strong lighting, and consistent flow support SPS coral growth.
