A Word of the Coral
TIA Golden Coin Tenuis is one of the most radiant golden tenuis we have grown. Similar to Pineapple Express, it displays an intensely bright gold coloration that immediately catches the eye under reef lighting.
What sets Golden Coin apart is the added complexity within the gold. Subtle hints of green and orange appear across the branches, giving the coral a richer and more layered palette. The result is a vivid, luminous tenuis whose colors shift slightly depending on lighting and viewing angle.
Care Requirements
Lighting
Moderate to High PAR (250–400). Strong blue-spectrum reef lighting enhances the coral’s golden coloration and brings out the green and orange highlights.
Water Flow
Moderate to Strong, turbulent flow. Randomized circulation encourages healthy tissue growth and natural polyp extension typical of Acropora tenuis.
Placement
Best placed in the upper half of a mature reef aquarium where stable parameters and strong lighting support SPS coral growth.
Water Parameters
Temperature: 76–79°F
Salinity: 1.025–1.026
Alkalinity: 8–9 dKH
Calcium: 400–450 ppm
Magnesium: 1300–1400 ppm
Reef Compatibility
Reef safe. Recommended for aquarists experienced with SPS husbandry.
